The 150th anti-nuclear power plant campaign

Although we know we have uploaded a number of anti-nuclear power plant campaigns recently, it means to close all the nuclear power plant throughout the Korean peninsula is the most urgent to happen.

The campaign has happened to be 150 times up to date, so Korea YWCA and Seoul YWCA and 40 local YWCAs all got together to raise awareness. As we described in the past post, Gori&Wolseong nuclear reactor already passed its longevity, it's definitely time for them to rest forever.

However, there are still many people believe the nuclear power plants are necessary to provide enough electricity, despite the fact that Korean citizens are offered sufficient energy from other resources. Now the world needs us to develop renewable energy.

Watch us; we are the Women Entrepreneur in Thandaunggyi Seoul YWCA had an article once to let you know that we are implementing ‘Sharing and Dreams’ in Myanmar supported by Samsung and Community chest of Korea for one year. (making the ribbon with leftover pieces) The purpose is to get their economic independence and self-confidence. There are two batches in Thandaunggyi during the year. The first batch was finished in July, and from the August, the second batch was started their lessons! They had a handicraft class and ICT class. Through lessons, they could think of the business ideas and the profits. Thandunggyi is located in a mountain area, therefore it sometimes has trouble using electricity well, but they are having ICT class during this month. Please cheer them up and send regards!

Seoul YWCA campaigned Equal Pay for Equal Work on 25th May. They spoke out the large gap between women and men's wage for equal work and received signatures to designate "Equal Pay for Equal Work Day"
