Seou YWCA news in January

Gangnam Youth Center conducted a volunteering program that grows youth's sense of community and sharing for middle and high school students enjoying their winter vacation.
The center facilitated for the youth to visit nursing home, mentoring children in need. The participants had a great time by communicating the elderly and the kids learning about community development.






Nowon Women's Resources Development Center hosted a job fair with a company, Front-runner. The Front-runner is specialized in growing afterschool instructors, this time, it was mainly about hiring software coding programmer. The Front-runner introduced an outlook of SW coding sector and related training sessions. The participants had been offered job interviews and free training classes.

Watch us; we are the Women Entrepreneur in Thandaunggyi Seoul YWCA had an article once to let you know that we are implementing ‘Sharing and Dreams’ in Myanmar supported by Samsung and Community chest of Korea for one year. (making the ribbon with  leftover pieces) The purpose is to get their economic independence and self-confidence. There are two batches in Thandaunggyi during the year. The first batch was finished in July, and from the August, the second batch was started their lessons! They had a handicraft class and ICT class. Through lessons, they could think of the business ideas and the profits. Thandunggyi is located in a mountain area, therefore it sometimes has trouble using electricity well, but they are having ICT class during this month. Please cheer them up and send regards! 

Equal Pay for Equal Work

Seoul YWCA campaigned Equal Pay for Equal Work on 25th May. They spoke out the large gap between women and men's wage for equal work and received signatures to designate "Equal Pay for Equal Work Day"

Gender equality media monitoring #3 Korean Current Affairs Program

  Seoul YWCA proceeded media monitoring based on gender equality perspective, here's the third episode that explains Korean current affairs programs.  We edited this short video, hoping that gender equal programs are made so that we don't have to monitor the media anymore.
